As we continue to look for new, low impact ways to dye clothing, we’ve turned to the colouring tools of early man – minerals, rocks, and soils. Minerals don’t just tell the story of life on Earth, they also tell the story of colour. When our solar system settled into its current shape around 4.5 billion years ago, Earth was created by a series of galactic collisions. Tectonic plates began to form. And geological life and biological life fused together to create vast mineral deposits in the Earth’s upper crust. So when prehistoric man first picked up a prehistoric paintbrush, they turned to the ground around them. Today, instead of using those minerals to paint cave walls, we’re using them to dye clothing. Our Mineral T Shirt is garment dyed in a giant bath of volcanic soil. There are only 2 by-products of this process – volcanic soil sediment, and water. Both of which can go straight back into nature.

A field jacket for travelling the Earth

Few pieces of clothing have travelled the earth like the field jacket has. Designed as a lightweight, utilitarian solution for the battlefields of Europe and the Pacific during WWII, it evolved into the famous M-65 jacket in the jungles of Vietnam, before being reborn as a Hollywood icon on the backs of Pacino in Serpico, De Niro in Taxi Driver, and The Terminator.

Made with a custom dyeing process that makes each jacket look like it’s stepped off a film set, no two jackets are the same.

Equipped with seven utilitarian pockets

The original M-65 field jackets came equipped with four functional pockets for storage – two chest pockets and two hip pockets. We’ve kept this same construction, while adding an extra hidden zipped chest pocket and two huge back pockets for travelling.

The utilitarian design includes two huge bellows pockets, heavy-duty metal hardware, and reinforced seams for durability.

A hidden zipped pocket for treasure maps

The jacket is fitted with two angled upper chest pockets which close securely with storm flaps and metal snap fasteners. And inside the left chest pocket you’ll find a second concealed zipped pocket for valuables, treasure maps, or ancient relics.

Huge storage pockets to replace a backpack

At the back of the jacket we’ve built in two huge storage pockets. They’re 35cm deep. They can hold at least 3 litres. And they fasten shut with robust metal snaps. So if you’ve left your bag at home, you can use your jacket instead. The pockets are constructed with a curved entrance so you can easily reach into them without having to take the jacket off.

Lightweight, durable, and built with custom dyes and high spec metal components, it’s a jacket that looks like it’s truly lived.

Made with a custom dyeing process

We start with a green military fabric which we cut, sew and construct into jackets. The jackets are coloured again as we submerge them in a sand-coloured dye, blending the two colours to lighten the green. Finally they’re lightly stone-washed to create a patina around the seams and metal components. This process gives every jacket its own distinctive visual texture that means no two jackets will ever be the same.

It will develop its own unique fade patterns

As well as creating unique colours and patterns that make each jacket look like it’s stepped off a film set, this method of repeat dyeing and washing relaxes and softens the material to make the jacket feel like you’ve already owned it for 20 years. And the more adventures you take it on, the more it will continue to mould to your body and develop its own unique fade patterns.

Built with soft cotton, and reinforced with nylon

The jacket is constructed from a lightweight blend of cotton for comfort and nylon for strength. Milled in Italy the material is soft, malleable and breathable thanks to its cotton base. It’s then reinforced with 25% nylon for increased durability, creating a dense, wind-resistant weave. It makes it the kind of jacket you’ll want to travel the world in.

The more adventures you take it on, the more it will mould to your body and develop its own unique fade patterns.

A high collar to protect your neck

When the weather turns hostile you can adjust the collar for protection. You can flip it up to convert it into a high collar that covers your neck, before fastening it across your throat with the latch and button.
