Hybrid Puffer
Everest engineering for the streets of New York
- Built with re-engineered and reinforced Merino wool
- Waterproof and windproof
- Insulated with 700-fill recycled down
While the winter weather in cities now resembles the kind of stuff you only used to get on the sides of mountains, it doesn’t mean your clothing has to. So the Hybrid Puffer is built for the times you want to stay incredibly warm… but without looking like you just came down from the summit of Everest with an ice axe, full beard and semi-insane grin.
Aesthetically the Hybrid Puffer is as discreet and anonymous as you could ever want. It gives off real ‘nothing-to-see-here’ vibes. This is Everest engineering for the streets of New York. It’s matt black. There are no logos or markings. And there are zero baffles in sight. Essentially it looks like a stripped down parka. Yet it uses all the technology and design detailing you’d want on the side of a mountain.
It’s just all hidden. The baffles are hidden. The down insulation is hidden. The storm proof construction is hidden. As are the elasticated inner cuffs, the pockets, and the internal wind collar. It’s all on the inside. It’s even made from waterproof and windproof Merino so it blends in with your other city clothes.
Technical Details
The Hybrid Puffer is Everest engineering for the streets of New York
The puffer uses all the technology and design detailing you’d want on the side of a mountain. It’s just all hidden.
Built from waterproof and windproof Merino
To build the outer shell of the Hybrid Puffer we turned to a material designed to withstand some of the harshest conditions on Earth… Merino wool. While Merino has its roots in classic suits, we’ve transformed it into a smooth, minimalist, high tech material. It’s weatherproof, waterproof, windproof, bacteria-killing, and temperature-regulating and as soft as cashmere.
The engineering process makes the puffer ultrasoft
Despite this process making the Merino stronger it also counterintuitively makes it softer at the same time. The quality of Merino is judged on its ‘micron count’ – this refers to the diameter of an individual fibre measured in microns, or thousandths of a millimetre. The smaller the diameter, the finer the fibre. And the finer the fibre, the softer the fabric. The micron count of Merino wool can be as low as 15 – which is the same as cashmere. The spinning process takes the micron count of our Merino even lower, which is why the Hybrid Puffer feels so smooth and silk-like.

Made with 700 fill power recycled down
The Hybrid Puffer comes with 700-fill power down to keep your temperature stable in extreme city conditions. We work with leading recycled-down specialist, Re:Down® who take down from jackets, pillows and duvets across Europe, and clean it using thermal water and zero chemicals. After saving around 90% of the original down, every batch is sterilised, sorted and tested to perform like new. It’s traceable, waste-free, and saves around 100 litres of water per kilo compared to virgin down. Anything that can’t be reused gets turned into fertiliser or insulation. And nothing goes to landfill.
While the winter weather in cities now resembles the kind of stuff you only used to get on the sides of mountains, it doesn’t mean your clothing has to.
