The Planet Earth Fleece Vest is a technical, all-weather fleece vest designed to take you across every climate, environment and terrain on Earth. It’s built to work as a high-performance outer layer on its own in warmer weather, or as an insulating midlayer if you’re layering up.

It’s constructed from an innovative double-sided material that’s weather resistant on the outside and lined with an ultrasoft, warm fleece on the inside. Windproof, breathable and lightweight, it comes with two zipped pockets, four-way stretch and a water repellent coating made from fluorocarbon-free technology.

An all-weather fleece vest for every climate and terrain

The Planet Earth Fleece Vest is a technical all-weather fleece designed to take you across every climate and terrain on Earth. Built to work as a high-performance midlayer or outer layer in changing weather, it’s constructed from an innovative double-sided material that combines a weather resistant outer face with an ultrasoft and warm fleece lining.

It combines a windproof, water repellent outer shell, with an ultrasoft fleece lining.

It’s water repellent and windproof

The outside of the Planet Earth Fleece Vest is windproof and treated with a water repellent coating to help it deal with light rain and showers. The type of coating we use is what’s known as a C0, meaning it’s completely free of any toxic fluorocarbons. This same technology helps the vest to dry out quickly when it gets wet.

Ultrasoft fleece next to your skin

On the underside you’ll find an ultrasoft fleece next to your skin. The fleece insulates you in cold weather by trapping pockets of warm air around your body. It’s breathable too, so when you’re working hard it will release sweat vapour to keep your temperature stable.

How we’ve made fleece weather resistant

The core technology which allows us to combine weather protection with the warmth and softness of fleece is the material’s double-sided construction. While the inner layer is ultrasoft fleece, the outer layer is smooth and completely flat. This allows us to apply a water repellent coating – something which is impossible on the uneven surfaces you find on regular fleeces. The dense weave of the flat outer surface also makes this fleece completely windproof.

Lightweight and packable for any adventure

Normally to get this double-sided effect you’d need to laminate two separate layers together. Instead the Planet Earth Fleece Vest achieves it with a single-layer construction. It’s more durable, more energy efficient to produce, and it saves on weight and bulk – making the vest extremely lightweight and packable, so you can take it with you on any adventure.

It’s built with four-way stretch

The fleece is constructed with 8% elastane for four-way stretch. It’s so soft, lightweight and stretchy you can move in any direction without feeling resistance.

The innovative double-sided material combines weather protection with the warmth and softness of fleece.

Two zipped pockets and water resistant zippers

The vest comes with two outside zipped pockets with water resistant zippers. They’re lined with a microfibre fleece that feels super soft against the back of your hands when you tuck them in. And the reverse side of the pockets means they double as two large open storage pouches on the inside.
