£395
Colour: khaki edition
Model is 6ft 2 / 188cm with a 38 inch / 96cm chest, and wears size Large.
  • Built with Twaron® para-aramid fibres used in body armour and spacecraft
  • Engineered for extreme durability and long-term wear
  • Reinforced construction

The Planet Earth Shirt 2 is a pared-back evolution of the original Planet Earth Shirt. That shirt was designed to tackle all kinds of temperatures and terrains, this one is engineered to take on time. It’s optimised for structural endurance, built with more material science, more reinforcement, fewer moving parts, fewer complex systems and fewer potential failure points.

The shirt is built with Twaron®, a para-aramid fibre used in body armour, aerospace parts and industrial systems where material failure has life and death consequences.

We’ve woven it into a dense, non-stretch material, used twin-needle stitching and reinforced seams in the construction, and metal snap fastenings instead of buttons, which are often the first thing to fail.

The Planet Earth Shirt 2 is engineered to take long-term wear and repeated stress and built on the assumption that it won’t be treated carefully. It’s not indestructible, but it is designed to fail very, very slowly.

An evolution of the Planet Earth Shirt

The Planet Earth Shirt 2 is a pared-back evolution of the original Planet Earth Shirt. That shirt was designed to adapt to any temperature or terrain, this one is engineered to take on time. It’s optimised for structural endurance. And built with more material science, more reinforcement, fewer moving parts, fewer complex systems and fewer potential failure points.
The original Planet Earth Shirt was designed to take on extreme environments. This one was built to take on time.

Built with para-aramid fibres

The shirt is built with a para-aramid, a class of fibres developed to be used where material failure has very serious consequences. They’re used in body armour, aerospace parts, high-load cables, tyres and protective systems designed to absorb extreme force without tearing apart. Weight for weight, they’re around five times stronger than steel and highly resistant to long-term fatigue.

Why para-aramid behaves differently

A para-aramid’s strength doesn’t come from thickness or mass. It comes from molecular order. Its polymer chains are highly aligned and tightly bonded, forming a paracrystalline structure that resists stretching, tearing and long-term deformation. Unlike conventional fibres, it doesn’t slowly creep, sag or lose integrity with repeated loading. Which is why it’s trusted in systems where failure isn’t an option.
Built with the same fibres used in body armour and aerospace systems.

Why Twaron®

Twaron® is made by Teijin Aramid, a Dutch company that engineers high-performance aramid fibres and very little else. Decades of industrialising a single fibre platform let it produce that molecular order at scale and refine how the fibre performs in real systems. It's why Twaron® is one of the most widely recognised para-aramids in the world, chosen where a fibre is judged on how well its strength survives over time, not how strong it feels on day one.

A material designed to age very, very slowly

The shirt’s material is woven in Italy by Lenzi Egisto using a blend of polyamide, cotton and these para-aramid fibres. It’s light enough for constant wear, but dense, tough and non-stretch. Stretch fibres feel forgiving early on, but they accelerate sag and fatigue. This material does the opposite. It resists movement at the fibre level, so the shirt keeps its shape and integrity year after year after year.
Weight for weight, a para-aramid is around five times stronger than steel.

Reinforced construction throughout

Durability isn’t just about the material, it’s about how pieces are joined together. The Planet Earth Shirt 2 is built with twin-needle stitching, reinforced bartacks at high-stress areas, French-seamed underarms, and a double back yoke for structural stability. These are slow, traditional construction techniques, but they dramatically increase resistance to seam failure over time.

Snap fastenings instead of buttons

Buttons are often the first thing to fail on a shirt. So we removed them entirely. The shirt uses metal snaps, including at the cuffs, placket and collar. They’re faster to operate, more resistant to wear, and less vulnerable to thread fatigue.
We’ve re-engineered the shirt at every point of potential failure.

Pockets built to carry weight

The twin chest pockets use a bellows construction so they expand under load instead of pulling against the fabric. Reinforced with bartacks and secured with invisible snaps, they’re designed to carry weight repeatedly without distorting the overshirt or stressing the seams.

A reinforced, multi-tasking collar

The collar is reinforced at the stand and finished with zigzag stitching underneath to improve durability and shape retention. It can be worn open like a standard shirt or fully closed for additional protection. As with the rest of the shirt, the emphasis is on structural integrity. This is a collar designed to resist slow collapse.

Softened for wear, not weakness

Despite its toughness, the material is softened with a controlled wash so the shirt doesn’t feel like protective equipment. It’s comfortable immediately but beneath that softness is a structure designed to resist breakdown. Over time, it will develop a subtle patina rather than thinning, fraying or losing integrity.

Built to stay

Most clothes assume replacement. The Planet Earth Shirt 2 doesn’t. It treats longevity as a technical problem, solved with industrial-strength fibres and construction and pared-back design with fewer moving parts. It’s built on the assumption that failure isn’t an option.
