An ultralight all-weather shirt

The Ultralight Shirt weighs in at just 295 grams, stretches like high performance sports gear, resists creases and repels water and dirt with biomimetic technology. It’s part of a system of ultralight, highly technical all-weather clothing designed to take you across every climate, environment and terrain on the surface of Earth.
Built from a performance material that repels water, resists creasing and stretches when you do.

Precision engineered by Schoeller

Schoeller is one of the most advanced material mills on the planet. They’ve spent decades engineering textiles for extreme environments. And now they’ve built the material for this shirt. It’s lightweight but the polyamide construction makes it far more durable and abrasion resistant than natural fibres at the same weight. It’s still soft to the touch but tough enough to keep going long after cotton and linen have curled up in a ball.
An elastic core wrapped in polyamide with a surface texture engineered to keep heat and moisture off your skin.

A crepe-like surface engineered for heat

Look closely at the material and you’ll see it isn’t smooth. The yarn has an irregular, crepe-like texture created by deliberate thick-thin variations. That crinkled micro-surface means the material sits slightly away from your skin, creating tiny air gaps that allow heat and moisture to escape in humid conditions.

A water-repellent finish that works like a waxy leaf

The shirt material is finished with Schoeller’s ecorepel Bio, a plant-based durable water repellent that works like a waxy leaf. It wraps every fibre in a microscopic plant-derived barrier that causes rain to bead up and roll straight off. No PFCs, no Teflon chemistry, just renewable raw materials doing what a leaf has been doing for 450 million years. And unlike a lot of eco finishes that fade after a few washes, ecorepel Bio is engineered to stay effective after repeated washing.
Finished with a plant-based water-repellent coating inspired by the surface of a leaf.

Fast drying and breathable

This same technology also helps the shirt to dry out fast when it does get wet. And while some water-repellent coatings can affect breathability by clogging the pores of a material, the chain structure round the fibres means sweat vapour can still escape from the inside.

Crease resistance for easy packing and easy wearing

Polyamide is naturally crease resistant, which means this shirt will stay uncrumpled, whether you’ve pulled it from a wardrobe or the bottom of a bag that’s been under a seat for 9 hours. No ironing, steaming or hanging it in a hotel bathroom and hoping for the best.

Laser-cut ventilation to keep you cool in all the right places

You’ll find clusters of precision laser-cut ventilation holes hidden at the underarms on both the body and sleeves. Each one is just 1.5 mm in diameter but together they create targeted airflow where you need it most.

A hidden chest pocket with its own ventilation system

On the left chest you’ll find an invisible zip-entry pocket placed in the seam running down from the neckline. It’s deep enough for a phone, passport or wallet, and the zip means nothing falls out. Inside, we’ve added more laser-cut ventilation holes arranged in 3 columns to stop heat building up against your chest. Bartacks at the top and bottom of the zip reinforce the entry for durability.
Engineered with laser-cut ventilation, an invisible zip-pocket and hidden snap closures.

Minimal design, super-technical construction

The Ultralight Shirt is deliberately pared back. From the outside it looks like a sharp, modern shirt but it’s built to the same standards as our most technical gear. We’ve used French seams, fully enclosed for strength and a clean finish against your skin. The shoulder and front armhole are bound internally. The back yoke is stitched on while side-seam slits add ventilation and are reinforced with bartacks at every stress point to prevent tearing.

Cuffs engineered for movement

The cuffs carry the same RIRI snap system, a visible snap closure paired with a hidden snap on the placket for a sharp finish whether they’re fastened or turned back. A double pleat at each cuff gives you room to push the sleeves up. And the two-piece sleeve construction, with the back panel running onto the body and finishing in the shoulder seam, means the shirt is engineered around the shape of a moving arm.
