Stealth Bomber
Built with high-strength, high-stretch Swiss material technology.
- Highly abrasion resistant
- Material stretches to 1.5x its own length in any direction
- Weatherproof and breathable
When Northrop Grumman unveiled the B-2, better known as the ‘Stealth Bomber,’ it looked like it had arrived from another planet – but that’s only if you actually got to see it in the first place.
Known as a ‘flying wing’ it was so minimalist that it didn’t even have a fuselage or a tail. Its engines were buried within its wing to minimise their exhaust signature. It used multi-spectral camouflage that reduced acoustic, infrared, visual and radar signatures. And while it was 69ft long, 17ft high and had a wingspan of 172ft – and there was even a camp bed, a toilet, and space to prepare a hot meal – on radar it was the same size as a bird. So we decided to bring the same high-performance and minimalist design to the bomber jacket.
With our Stealth Bomber, we’ve taken the original bomber jacket back to its high-performance roots a century after it was first invented. We’ve rebuilt it with Swiss material technology that’s as strong as our 100 Year gear, and stretches to 1.5x its own length in any direction. It’s weatherproof, breathable, and comes with minimalist pockets, lockable zips, and bonded detailing. And while the B-2 has to be stored in a $5m climate-controlled hangar to maintain its stealth coating, our Stealth Bomber can be hung in a normal wardrobe.
Technical Details
We decided to bring the same high-performance, minimalist design of the Stealth Bomber, to the original bomber jacket.
The Stealth Bomber is made from incredibly high-strength, high-stretch Swiss material technology.
Early bombers were built to keep you alive
The ‘bomber jacket’ started life as a very tough jacket worn by very tough men. It really only had one job – to keep them alive. These were guys flying high-stakes missions in planes that looked like they were made from matchsticks and tissue paper for a school science fair. Barrelling through the troposphere at a couple of hundred miles per hour in open-air cockpits, these jackets were the only thing between them and thunderstorms, angry birds, and enemy fire.
The jacket can stretch to 1.5x its own length in any direction and return to its normal shape as soon as you let it go.
Maintenance of your Stealth Bomber
Coated in an anti-reflective paint, B-2s have to be stored in $5m climate-controlled hangars to maintain their stealth coating. Our Stealth Bomber can be hung in a normal wardrobe.
When Hollywood needs a plane to go fight aliens or monsters, it’s still the Stealth Bomber they turn to.
Minimalist detailing with concealed pockets
Our Stealth Bomber follows the blueprint of a classic bomber jacket with a streamlined shape, a close-fitting waist, and minimalist detailing including two discreet side pockets – embedded in two vertical seams that run down the front of the jacket, they fasten with concealed zips with rubberised pullers. The jacket also comes with a two-way front zipper with a lockable top zip.
