WE’VE PARTNERED WITH BANG & OLUFSEN AND SAGA SPACE ARCHITECTS TO LAUNCH OUR FIRST INTERSTELLAR DELIVERY VEHICLE …THE VOLLEBAK SPACESHOP.

Part spaceship, part shop, the Vollebak Spaceshop offers a glimpse into a future of interplanetary drone deliveries between Earth, the Moon and Mars.

Fitted with Bang & Olufsen’s iconic Beolab 5 and Beosound 2 speakers, the craft is capable of delivering approximately 120 decibels – that will make you feel like you’re in front of a sonic boom. The cargo onboard includes our Martian Aerogel Jackets built from the hypersonic parachutes that landed the last rovers on Mars, Full Metal Jackets built from 11 kilometres of disease-resistant copper, and electromagnetic Shielding Suits to combat cosmic and earthly radiation.

After leaving Copenhagen, the Vollebak Spaceshop will head off on a tour of Earth …before one day servicing nearby galaxies. (Intergalactic tariffs may apply.)

The Spaceshop is over 1,000kg of precision engineering that offers a glimpse into a future of interplanetary drone deliveries.

“When we thought about our first shop we didn’t simply think about one city, or even one planet. We thought about a future in which stores would come to you, bringing the things you needed when you needed them, regardless of where you were hanging out on the beach in LA, or mining asteroids in space.” Nick Tidball, Co-founder, Vollebak.

Designed and built by SAGA Space Architects.

SAGA are a team of Space Architects developing advanced habitats for extreme environments, from lunar surfaces to low Earth orbit. Working with the European Space Agency, they design living quarters and labs that address the physiological and psychological demands of life in space. Their designs have been tested in the Arctic, the Negev desert and International Space Station – this includes a full-scale lunar habitat for ESA’s astronaut training centre in Cologne, and a lighting payload that’s currently onboard the ISS helping astronauts sleep better in these alien environments.

The craft is built from carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium exterior panels that were anodised in Bang & Olufsen’s headquarters in Struer, Denmark.

“This kind of project comes around maybe only once in a career – the chance to think through a future in which intergalactic deliveries between Earth, the Moon and Mars are a part of everyday reality – no different to how we think about getting the things we buy delivered to our door today. Just on an interplanetary scale.” Sebastian Aristotelis, SAGA co-founder and lead architect.

Engineered with Bang & Olufsen Technology

Bang & Olufsen is a luxury audio brand founded in 1925 in Struer, Denmark, by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen whose devotion and vision remain the foundation for the company. For nearly a century, Bang & Olufsen has been pushing the boundaries of audio technology, and the company continues to sit at the forefront of acoustic innovation. Today, every Bang & Olufsen product is still characterized by the unique combination of beautiful sound, timeless design, and unrivalled craftsmanship.

Fitted with banks of Bang & Olufsen’s iconic Beolab 5 and Beosound 2 speakers, the craft is capable of delivering approximately 120 decibels – a little louder than a sonic boom.

“We're excited to partner with Vollebak on this ambitious project, which has showcased the innovation and experimentation that are at the heart of both brands. Together, we’ve transformed aluminium into a work of art – one that doesn’t just represent space and sound but also imagines the future we’re building towards.” Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bjerre, Creative Director for Atelier at Bang & Olufsen.
