Our Lumber range is high strength gear built for hard living. Hundreds of years after lumberjacks built modern America by hand, we’ve been taking their default uniform and using modern technology to build our own high strength versions. From jeans woven with fibres 15x stronger than steel, to thornproof jackets with somewhere to hold your axe.

Minimalist and hardwearing, the Padded Lumberjacket is built with advanced Japanese materials and super-compact insulation. The outside is engineered with a reinforced and insulated collar, triple chain stitching, and a highly technical Japanese weave called ‘typewriter’ which is strong and resilient thanks to its density, but also super lightweight and soft.

While the middle layer is made from sheets of super-compact and breathable synthetic insulation that we’ve anchored down with stitched bartacks to reduce weight and bulk. It makes the jacket a rugged and versatile layer designed for lightweight warmth as the seasons change.

We start with the softest cotton from the Nile Delta

Life at the equator offers us a glimpse of our future – a world of non-stop sun, heat, humidity and rainstorms. So we’ve built the Equator Pants to equip you for it. To build pants that can work in all 40,000km of the equator we start with a world-class base material – a rare cotton called Karnak Menoufi. One of the lightest, softest materials on the planet, Karnak Menoufi is a silk-like cotton that’s only found in the Nile Delta, and only grows in the years when the rain, soil and wind conditions are perfect. And it’s exactly the same material we use to build our Equator Shirt.

Our Equator Pants have been worn everywhere from Death Valley California and the Australian Outback, to the deserts of Oman.

We turn cotton into a high performance material

While Karnak Menoufi is already extremely soft and robust, we’ve added durability and stretch by combining it with elastane and an ultrafine nylon in Italy. And as pants typically take more of a beating than shirts, we’ve woven more nylon into the cotton than we do with the shirt, to add more strength. The result is an advanced, lightweight material that feels extremely soft next to your skin.

Lightweight and breathable

As global temperatures rise and climate zones shift, clothes have to respond. That’s why the Equator Pants are built to handle extreme heat. The material is highly breathable, which means sweat can escape fast. They’re also super lightweight at 350 grams, which makes them easy to wear or pack on any adventure. And it’s why they’ve been worn everywhere from Death Valley California and the Australian Outback, to the deserts of Oman.

The pants are engineered with 332 laser-cut vents to keep you cool in the hottest places on the planet.

The ventilation system works like in-built air-con

Designed for hot, humid and arid environments, the Equator Pants are engineered with the same ventilation system as the Equator Jacket, Equator Shirt and Equator Shorts. Inside each pocket you’ll find laser-cut and bonded panels with rows of perforated vents. The vents are designed to let air flow through the pants simply by opening the pockets.

2 side pockets with hidden vents

The two side pockets are built with angled lockable zippers that fasten in position. And you’ll find the first set of hidden vents inside the pockets when you need to cool down. The laser-cut panels inside each pocket have 92 holes to create 184 mini air streams.

The 2 back pockets also have in-built vents

The zipped back pockets are built with the same hidden laser-cut panels that allow air in when you open them up. The pockets open and close with concealed lockable zippers and each panel here comes with 74 vents.

4 more vents behind your knees

You’ll find the final 4 air vents behind your knees where the top half and the bottom half of the pants meet. The vents are securely fixed with bartacks so they won’t blow open, and they’re lined with a super soft and elastic, lightweight Italian mesh. It’s fast drying and incredibly breathable, so sweat can escape easily and air can flow round your legs to cool you down.

The Equator Pants are built from a rare, silk-like cotton that’s only found in the Nile Delta and only grows when the rain, soil and wind conditions are perfect.

Horizontal stretch and reinforced knees

The last thing you want when you’re pulling any extreme or repetitive move in the heat is resistance from your kit. The Equator Pants have two-way horizontal stretch, so whichever way you pull, turn or stretch, they will simply go with you. We’ve also reinforced each knee with a double layer of material for increased durability.

Life at the equator offers us a glimpse of our future – a world of non-stop sun, heat, humidity and rainstorms.

Buttons made from plants and vegetables

The buttons are made from buffalo imitation bioresin – a natural, non-toxic and water-based material we’ve produced by combining plant and vegetable waste with a polyester resin used by the aerospace industry. Lightweight and heat resistant, each button is sculpted with a highly polished 30 degree taper towards the edge to make it easy to slip into place.

Size + Fit

The Equator Pants are designed with a regular fit. If you’re between two waist sizes, we recommend going for the bigger size.
