Weatherproof, elastic, and abrasion resistant

The jacket starts with a highly versatile 3 layer material constructed in Italy. By densely weaving together thousands of ultra-thin nylon fibres we create a material that’s lightweight, weatherproof and smooth to the touch, but also highly resistant to abrasion and snagging. We add 10% elastane so the jacket stretches with you like sports gear. And the sleeves are articulated to follow the natural shape of your arms.

It's fully waterproof

Even in heavy rain the Planet Earth Jacket is totally waterproof to keep you dry and comfortable. A durable water repellent coating applied to the outside of the material lets rain and snow bead off the jacket, while a waterproof membrane laminated underneath prevents water from getting through the fabric. Every seam on the jacket is fully sealed with bonding, and we’ve engineered out seams at the shoulders to eliminate the chance of water making its way in.

It works in the cold and heat

The jacket is completely windproof, so cold air won’t get through it. And the inner layer is a super fine jersey with a smooth texture that traps heat in cold conditions. In the heat the jacket comes with an integrated ventilation system to help cool you when the temperature or humidity rises. There are 16 concealed vents throughout the jacket and each one opens and closes either with body movement or with zip closures.

Laser cut vents inside the pockets

All four pockets on the front of the jacket have air vents hidden inside them. Open up the lockable zippers and you’ll find laser cut panels inside with dozens of perforations that create mini air streams to cool you down.

Air-con for your back

You’ll find four more vents across the upper back. These are engineered to stay open and bring constant airflow. Two layers of fabric overlap and are securely fixed with bartacks. It means they won’t blow open and that water rolls off them, but the air can still flow in. And underneath each arm there are four more laser cut vents.

Five minimalist zipped pockets

There are two chest pockets to quickly store smaller stuff like your phone, wallet or keys. The two side pockets are big enough for water bottles, maps or gloves. There’s a small pocket on the left arm. And all the pockets open and close with concealed lockable zippers that stay fixed in place.

Detailing designed to keep out the elements

A high collar protects your neck from the sun, rain, wind or determined insects. The cuffs tighten with metal snap fasteners to create a seal round your wrists in harsh conditions. And at the centre of the jacket there’s a waterproof zipper protected by a large outer storm flap and another one inside. The external storm flap closes shut with the same heavy-duty metal snaps as the cuffs.
