THE VOLLEBAK SPACESHOP IS OVER 1,000KG OF PRECISION ENGINEERING THAT OFFERS A GLIMPSE INTO A FUTURE OF INTERPLANETARY DRONE DELIVERIES.
We always knew that when we opened a shop it wasn’t going to look or work like any other shop. Our favourite designs – from the Pompidou Centre, and the ‘spinner’ flying cars in Blade Runner, to Carlo Scarpa’s architecture in Dune II – all look like they’re part of a future that combines utilitarianism with a powerful futuristic life force.
Part shop, part spaceship, the Vollebak Spaceshop looks towards a future in which intergalactic deliveries between Earth, the Moon and Mars are simply a part of everyday reality – just like we expect the stuff we order today to turn up to our front door.
The craft was designed, built, and engineered, with the help of sonic powerhouse Bang & Olufsen, and SAGA Space Architects – who create modular habitats for extreme environments for space agencies. Below you’ll find the journey of the Vollebak Spaceshop from conception to completion.
